Beltane

Beltane is the May Day festival, falling on the first of May.  It marks the beginning of the Summer season.  Trees are in leaf, and cattle are led out to pasture.  I live on a hillside below an area of common land (which I think is a uniquely British concept).  Cattle appear on the commons at the beginning of May, and until October we can expect “cow jams” – cars waiting for cattle to cross the roads.

I chose Linden as the dominant note in this fragrance.  The Lindens don’t blossom until the end of May or in early June.  But at Beltane there are other trees in blossom and there is the promise of Linden blossoms to come.  There’s more about Linden in the Glossary at L is for: Linden.

This fragrance can be used as an alcohol based perfume, or an oil based perfume, or a solid perfume.  I’ve used it as the fragrance for #14 Hand Creme.
